Change Display Name - Self-Service and Canvas

Chosen Name: How to Change the Display of Your Name:

Note: Official documents, transcripts, etc. will not be affected by following this process.   To request a legal name change, contact the Registration Office.  

Your Chosen Name may appear where parents and proxies can view the information.

To change the name that displays on your Self-Service and Canvas accounts, sign into Self-Service (http://my.naropa.edu/gateway/).

1. Click on your name and select “User Profile”:

1. Click on “Edit Personal Identity”

1. Under “Chosen Name”, enter the first, middle and last name you want to have displayed.   The first and last name are required to display correctly.  The middle name is optional.

1. Click on Save.   This name will now display on Self-Service and in Canvas.
